A musical?!

Yes, indeed! My pride and joy is an original musical called Funny Girl Files: A Backstage Parody, co-written with Cecilia Viveiros.

Funny Girl Files is a satire of the viral celebrity drama surrounding the Funny Girl Broadway revival. Out of the loop? Don’t sweat—here’s the story in one sentence:

“When an understudy has her Broadway dream role taken from her, she must defeat a celebrity diva with occult industry ties or lose her chance to become theater's greatest star.”

Stay tuned for updates! Once we take the show public, I’ll link some songs here—lyrics and music by my genius friend, Lindsay Whiteman.

Feeling impatient? Eh, shoot me a message, and I’ll probably share it with you right now. I’m pretty much an open book, and I thirst for feedback.

A movie?!

You betcha! The other project I’m working on is Queen of the Ocean, a feature-length screenplay loosely based on the life of my hairdresser. Here’s the one sentence summary:

“When a thrill-seeking seventeen-year-old becomes involved with a lesbian hairdresser twice her age, she must choose between the chaotic relationship and her own safety.”

We are trucking along on the project, and I’m extremely pleased with our progress (I am once again partnering with the amazing Cecilia Viveiros). Coming from the world of playwrighting, learning to write for screen has been exciting and challenging and a HUGE mindset adjustment.

Stay tuned—once this one’s done, I’m planning to link it right here!
